Hwy 880, northbound (coming from east Oakland, Hayward, Castro Valley, Fremont, or San Jose)

Pass the Oakland Coliseum Sports complex and High Street exit, taking the 23rd Street exit. Follow sign to Alameda (veer left). At the signal, hang a left U-turn to go across the freeway overpass. Follow road into Alameda over the green Park Street bridge and proceed on Park Street. The 8th signal is Alameda Avenue - turn right. The Museum is in the middle of the block on the left.

Hwy 880, southbound (coming from Berkeley, El Cerrito, San Francisco, or north Oakland)

Take the 23rd street exit. Follow the roadway about a mile over the green Park Street bridge. Turn right at 8th signal onto Alameda Avenue. The Museum is in the middle of the block on the left.

From Alameda

On Park Street, between Encinal and Central, turn onto Alameda Avenue, a small side street (there's a large red brick Victorian building on the corner). The Museum is halfway down the block on the left.

There is a city parking lot (with meters) across the street from the Museum and the multilevel city parking ramp is a block away. From Park Street, turn right onto Central Avenue (at the 7th signal from the Park Street bridge). An entrance to the parking lot that faces the museum is on your left, across from the theater. If you park in the lot, you can simply walk out the other end to reach Alameda Avenue and the museum. To reach the city parking ramp, make the same right turn from Park Street onto Central, proceed one short block to Oak street, and turn right again - the ramp entrance is just past the theater. After you park, walk back up Oak, cross Central, and continue up Oak one more block. Cross and turn left onto Alameda Avenue. The Museum is halfway up the block on the right.
